In Grandfather Bernat’s mind there is 1923 as the year when his father first began to really graze cattle on pasture. That, to be exact, was a small cow’s herd in Monars, between the area of El Ripollès and L’Alta Garrotxa, one of the pastures we are still using among the many others we manage in the Girona Pyrenees, where we drive our cattle on vacation every summer. Since then, so far, natrus has devoted to mainly breeding and grazing beef calf on pasture, what is to say the calves follow their mothers, eat grass and suck milk until they are about 6 months old. At that time, they are fed at the house for another half a year, almost exclusively with maize and fodder taken from our fields.

That is why we like to say that “our fields feed our burgers”.
